ABOUT THE SHOW

Hilariously funny and touchingly honest, Urinetown provides a fresh perspective on one of America's greatest art forms.

In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides that he's had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom!

Inspired by the works of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, Urinetown is an irreverently humorous satire in which no one is safe from scrutiny. Praised for reinvigorating the very notion of what a musical could be, Urinetown catapults the "comedic romp" into the new millennium with its outrageous perspective, wickedly modern wit and sustained ability to produce gales of unbridled laughter.
GET INVOLVED
All students interested in participating in the spring musical must complete the online registration form AND Urinetown audition form. The audition form will ask if what areas of the production (cast/crew) you are interested in. If you already have an account, you will only need to update your registration and then complete the audition form.

CAST Auditions

OPEN AUDITIONS will be held on Monday, November 21. All students will be asked to prepare the required songs/scenes. Additionally, students will be taught and evaluated on a dance. Registration is at 2:30 with auditions starting at 3:00. Open auditions will conclude by 6:00pm.

CALLBACK AUDITIONS will be held on Tuesday, November 22. Dance callbacks will start at 2:45. Callbacks for specific roles will begin at 4:00. If you are called back for a lead/supporting role, please bring food and school work as this night has been known to last to 8:00 or later.

CASTING: The production list will be posted by noon on Wednesday, November 23.

CREW Auditions - This includes run crew, makeup, marketing, management, construction, scenic, and costumes.
